Very, very carefully taped bike and used BBQ paint. Then gently filed fin edges for contrast. Yes it is very dull, but I like the contrast. So far no-one has thought it came from the factory any other way.
I know I'm not objective but, I think it looks better than the same combo on my wife's Sportster which did come from the factory like that.
